The 29 men of 3rd mechanized infantary platoon know, and will always know, what it's all about. If you have the honor of meeting one of them in the future, ask him about it. If you don't, here are som hints; brotherhood, courage, knowledge and a hell of a warrior spirit.

Our mission was never easy, from the taliban ruled hills of * and the traitorous of *, to the hopeful eyes of children and the good soldiers of the Afghan army.

The escorts, the patrols, the operations. The suicide bombers, the IED's, the fire fights. The long nights in fire positions, the social patrols, the cordons, the dead bodies. The laughter's, the agonizing worrying about wounded brothers, the tears. The bad language, the heavy metal, the ceremonies. The patrias, the pigs, the kickass-CV 0+'s and of course our piece-of-shit-toyotas. Ze germans, the norwegian PsyOps guy who wanted to blow the shit up, the horrific monsters that some Afghans call dogs.

No matter what challenges we faced, we took them on with pride and loyalty. When i think of it, i am amazed that soldiers hard as rock, can move that fast and stay that low.

To all of you who served with me; this is not only our deeds and memories, this is also the DNA that makes us biological brothers in arms.
